What exactly is an Independent Celebrant?
A Celebrant crafts, writes, and delivers a personalized, memorable ceremony for any of life’s meaningful milestones, such as weddings, namings and funerals. Everything is centered around the couple or family's wishes, wants, and needs. In a nutshell, it’s about freedom of choice.
Why do you need Celebrant?

Getting married? A wedding ceremony is one of the biggest days in your life and should be as utterly unique as the love you’ve found – it’s your story that should be told! How you met, where you met, when you realised it was love, when the ‘big question’ was popped...YOUR story. Where you stand now and your hopes for the future yet to be realised.
A Registrar-led wedding is non-personalised and has a very specific script that is the same for each couple and must be conducted in a licensed venue. You don’t get to choose your Registrar or meet them beforehand. They are bound to government restrictions, which means they cannot undertake a ceremony that includes any religious or spiritual elements.
Be free to choose your ideal ceremony
As an Independent Celebrant, I can write and conduct ceremonies if you have no faith, mixed faith, or hold a belief system. You are free to get married in the place you choose – whether inside or outside - as long as you have permission from the landowner. There are no restrictions to what can be included; multicultural elements, ceremonial touches involving family and friends or traditional elements such as hand-tying. You can choose to write your own vows or I can give you a guiding hand.
Lovage - What's in a name?
Ancient Romans believed that a potion made from lovage would evoke feelings of romance and attract long- lasting love! It's a herb still used today in Italy and other parts of Southern Europe, where it's rumoured that a vegetable soup with a healthy portion of lovage is as good an aphrodisiac as a plate of oysters.
